An Invitation to Attend a Talk by Sandra Morris
We are pleased to announce yet another guest speaker to our Live Chat Room. On Saturday 27th October 2007 between 7 and 7.30pm GMT (3 and 3.30pm EST), Sandra Morris of Towerhouse Dolls will be giving a talk on "Toys for the Victorian Nursery". There will be an opportunity to ask questions as they arise.
"For many miniaturists, the tiny toys which grace their doll's house nurseries are amongst the most appealing small wonders. In particular, having a Victorian-era house provides you with a wonderful excuse to cram the nursery full of amazing little toys for your doll's house children to play with. There are a number talented mini toymakers here in the UK and beyond, but with a little ingenuity you can make your own authentic-looking Victorian toys. I will take you on a guided tour of the toys most commonly found in the Victorian nursery, followed by a few ideas for some easy to make toys and games."
Sandra Morris has over 20 years of experience in the world of miniatures, and holds regular workshops both here in the UK and abroad, as well as teaching the art of porcelain doll making and dressing and selling her creations through her website, http://www.towerhousedolls.co.uk
This represents a unique opportunity, which will be totally free to attend for our members. Please don't miss out.
