Folded Blouse and Purse
Emma Eilback

This is a quick and easy project to make, using materials that you probably already have in your craft box.

For this project you will need:

  • Small squares of fabric
  • miniature picot braid or other trimmings
  • a small piece of craft card
  • scissors
  • glue
  • small pearly beads
  • To make the clutch purse, begin by cutting a card rectangle approximately 5 x 2 1/2 cm. Cut a larger piece of your chosen fabric, and then glue the card on the wrong side of the fabric. Trim off excess fabric, leaving a small border all the way around the card.

Carefully turn over the spare fabric and stick down on the back of the card, leaving a flat front with neat edges.

Gently fold the card rectangle into roughly three sections, folding the bottom section up, then the top section over and down.

Trim the front of the purse with a small piece of picot trim, and then add some glue inside the bag under the top flap. Gently hold the purse in position for a few seconds until the glue has begun to bond. You can decorate your clutch purse with a tiny little pearl.

To make the matching blouse, cut a rectangle of card approximately 4 x 2 1/2 cm, and then cover with fabric as before. This time you need to cut a small length of fabric approximately 5 cm x 1 1/2 cm. Add a little glue to cover the wrong side of the fabric, then fold in half lengthways to form a blouse collar. Fold the two ends inwards to make the collar shape and trim with a little picot braid. Before you glue the collar to the blouse, add some trim down the middle of the blouse, tucking trim at both ends over and stick onto the reverse side of the blouse.

Make a small rectangle sleeve of fabric, with a cuff made in the same way as the collar, and then stick the collar and sleeve into place, adding pearl button details.

I hope you will enjoy making this project. If you have any problems post your queries in the Support Forum
